Course description:
This course is an introduction to quantitative methods and its usefulness in geographical research.

Learning Outcomes/ Objectives

At the end of the course, the student will be able to;

  1. apply quantitative methods in geographic research 
  2. discuss the importance of quantification in geography
  3. discuss the usefulness of models and hypothesis in  geographic research
  4. explain concepts in descriptive and inferential statistics
  5. explain the scientific method

Methods of Course Assessment:

Evaluation will be carried out in accordance with the university policy. The lecturer will present a written course outline with specific evaluation criteria at the beginning of the semester. Evaluation will be based on the following:
