Course description: This course will discuss the anatomical organs of the female reproductive system. The course will also introduce student nurses to the care of the woman during normal pregnancy, labour and puerperium. It also covers the detection of complications for referral, and the management of the newborn including community midwifery practice.

Normal labour: definition; physiology of labour; Signs and stages of labour, Mechanism and management of labour Safe delivery and essential obstetric care (EOC). |
